Triage and careful monitoring aren't only for patients.

When EMstrategies contracts with a hospital to run an emergency department, our first step is triage. Which factors must we immediately address to ensure the department is operating smoothly and efficiently? We then employ a variety of services to address those factors and monitor them over time. While our services are customized to the needs of each ED, they do fall into basic categories.

Emergency Medicine Services

We start by hiring skilled, experienced physicians to effectively lead the department. Our management team will assess systems within the ED and make recommendations for appropriate staffing, patient flow, admission procedures, equipment, billing and customer service.

ED Performance Improvement Services

We establish performance baselines and set goals for improvement in all vital areas: patient experience, employee retention, outcomes, hospital admissions and profit by service line.

Continuous Quality Improvement

We regularly monitor a variety of clinical and non-clinical metrics to assess our current processes and continuously improve them.

EMS System Improvement Service

We work with local EMS agencies to improve pre-hospital communications and care, and to streamline the transfer of care on arrival. EMstrategies takes an active role in local and state EMS pre-hospital clinical protocol development.
